a business on your own, prepare action driven business plans,
increase your sales and profits, and obtain financing.
New business owners
and those planning to start new businesses will benefit from
attending one or more of the four programs presented in a workshop
format by members of SCORE . The presenters are skilled,
experienced and successful executives, business owners and
professionals:

These programs are
presented by SCORE - Manasota
Chapter in cooperation with the Sarasota County Technical
Institute (SCTI). They are held in the SCTI Classroom
E3
which is located at 4748 Beneva Road (the intersection of
Beneva and Proctor Roads). Each workshop is
conducted from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM on a Saturday.

Attendance at these workshops is free of charge thanks to our
sponsors who include: Bank of America, Bank of Venice,
Commerica Bank, Community Bank, Fifth Third Bank,
and Horizon Bank.
STARTING/BUYING A SMALL BUSINESS
This workshop is for everyone
interested in starting, buying or franchising any kind of new
business. It deals with all the fundamental steps to a
successful undertaking while explaining the pitfalls. A
necessity if you are a serious entrepreneur.
BUILDING YOUR
BUSINESS PLAN
This program details the steps to
prepare a plan necessary to guide a business including actual
materials and narratives. Recommended for everyone
contemplating starting a business, present owners of new or ongoing
businesses. A critical part of any loan application program.
FINANCING YOUR BUSINESS
This workshop is for anyone seeking
financial support for a business. It describes the various
sources of debt and equity financing available and more importantly,
the information necessary to attract these investors. This
program is a must, it you need to borrow money.
MARKETING AND SALES
This workshop is a must for anyone who has started a business or
wants to explore ways to expand the business and increase sales.
It will guide you in understanding your product / services, your
market, and identifying ways to reach new customers.
You may want to
register for more than one workshop at a time. The workshops
are designed to build on one another. Thus a person starting a
business might attend the Starting/Buying a Small Business workshop,
then the Building a Business Plan workshop them the Marketing
and Sales workshop followed by the Financing
Your Business workshop.
SCORE
also offers free individual consulting help for small
business. After the Workshop, fill out a 641 application form,
turn it in to your presenter and a counselor will contact you.
